Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her professionally-known title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho in October 21st, 2016, was released via Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The release date was May of 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the web including her self issued single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to be a part of his collaboration on Rihanna's references. Later in the calendar, her songs circulated around Dreamville. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II her appearance was made on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she was featured as a guest performer on two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video was then released in September. In November, she dropped two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, she released 13 two brand new singles, titled"No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed together with Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019 she released a music video made available for the song. The track has received over three millions views on YouTube during its initial week. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
